Baker’s Dozen
A slang term for the number thirteen being called out.
Ball Gate
The ball dispensing machine has a one way flap which is used to collect the randomly chosen ball. The ball then travels through the gate and is revealed for players to strike the number from their Bingo card.
Ball Lifter
Part of the ball dispensing machine, whereby the chosen ball is lifted from the others in the play field and dispensed towards the shooter tip.
Ball Runway
The narrow channel which the Bingo ball runs down when it has been chosen by the ball lifter.
Ball Shooter
The spring loaded mechanism which launches the Bingo ball into the play field.
Balls
The Bingo balls are numbered spherical units which are chosen randomly. Once the balls roll out, it is the player’s duty to match them to their Bingo card. Matching the balls in a row or a full house, all of the numbers on a card, will result in a win.
Bang on the Drum
A slang term for the number seventy one being called out.
Basket Bingo
Is a normal game of Bingo, ‘basket’ prizes, similar to hampers are awarded to the winner.
Between the Sticks
A slang term for the number eighty six. It also rhymes slightly.
Bingo Booklets
Coloured Bingo book sheets with randomly selected numbers. The booklet is usually bound in order of play to aid quick fire games.
Bingo Marker
The only tool a player needs in Bingo. It is a pen, ink marker or dauber which is used to cross off winning numbers. Once a line is filled or indeed the full card, all of the numbers would have been coloured in by the player.
Blackout
The words house, coverall and blackout all have the same meaning. It is to cross out all of the Bingo card numbers. This is also called a full house and will usually win the player large amounts of money.
Blind 90
A slang term for the number ninety being called out. It is the last number on the board and is sometimes called the end of the line.
Blower
A device which forces air to mix the Bingo balls together, which are then to be chosen.
Bonanza Bingo
Before the start of a Bingo game, it is usually 43 numbers chosen to star in the game. Pre-packed cards are then sold to the players wishing to play. During the game, the announcer calls out asking if anyone has Bingo. If no one does, then the game rolls onto the next ball. This is generally the way progressive Bingo is played as each time the game is not won, the jackpot increases. The game is continued until one lucky winner takes the prize.
Bovine Bingo
Not your typical online or even Bingo hall game. It is a traditional fund raising tool, whereby cattle are released into a pen and numbered. Bets are wagered on which cow to “cow flop” or defecate. The first to do so is the winner.
Breaking the Bubble
The bubble is known as the minimum number of balls in a Bingo game required to win. It is the pattern which takes the least amount of numbers called out in order to win the round.
Brighton Line
A slang term for the number fifty nine being called out.
Buckle My Shoe
A slang term for the number thirty two being called out.
Bull’s Eye
A slang term for the number fifty being called out. It gets the name from darts where the centre of the dart board is 50 points and also called a Bull’s Eye.
