Rules and Regulations

As you already probably know, bingo is a very straightforward game but a basic explanation of the rules and regulations will make sure you know what you’re doing. After all, we all want to know what we are doing don’t we?! There’s no point playing a game without knowing what to do! It’s no fun and it ruins the experience.

Below are the rules and ways in which the two most popular bingo games 90 Ball Bingo and 75 Ball Bingo are played.

90 Ball Bingo

The traditional bingo! The one you have probably played or seen your Grandma play. Obviously it uses 90 balls. Players buy a ticket with 3 lines on it, with five numbers on each of the 3 lines. The game commences and random numbers are selected and called out by the bingo caller. You check your ticket, cross of the ones that have been called and hope they keep coming up!
Once you make one line of numbers you shout out BINGO (or click BINGO!) and receive the prize. It goes to the first person who calls out (the first person to get a full house). When playing online you usually don’t miss out on a win if you forget to call out because the software automatically detects if you have won. The largest prize is given to first place, but 2nd, 3rd and so on often get prizes.

75 Ball Bingo

75 balls are obviously used in this form of bingo, but this time you use a ticket with a 5×5 grid. Each square has a number in it with the middle/centre square usually a FREE SQUARE, meaning it’s already marked.

The same situation occurs as in 90 ball bingo, a bingo caller (the software!) calls out numbers and you see if you have them. The difference between the 75 and 90 ball bingo is that in the 75 bingo only ONE prize is awarded, to the first player who marks a particular shape in the grid. E.g. if an L is required then you would need to have numbers in the entire first column, and the bottom row of the grid. The fun thing about this type of bingo is all the interesting shapes used.
